Rather Gothic

These are churches I visited but preferred not to include in the main inventory because they are basically Gothic, even though in some books or websites they are referred to as being Romanesque.

The line between the Romanesque and the Gothic styles is difficult to draw, since the latter evolved gradually from the first. In some cases one may wonder whether a building is late Romanesque with early Gothic influences, or rather the other way around? This second possibility – early Gothic with late Romanesque influences – applies to the churches listed below. In most cases I follow the later insights of Carlos de Almeida, the authority par excellence in this field.
